It’s safe to say that so far this season, the uniquely gifted, enticingly deep 2017-18 NBA rookie class has been as good as advertised. Heck, it might be even better than advertised. The on-court performances from the likes of Lonzo Ball, De’Aaron Fox, Jayson Tatum, Kyle Kuzma and more deliver must-see stuff on a nightly basis — and that has absolutely carried over to the trading card landscape.
In late January, that landscape gets a new fixture with the release of Panini America’s 2017-18 Status Basketball, a different-by-design kind of product that highlights the highly touted 2017 NBA Draft Class with a rousing ensemble of Rookie Cards, inserts, parallels, autographs and memorabilia cards. On average, each hobby box of 2017-18 Status Basketball (six cards per pack, 10 packs per box, 20 boxes per case) will deliver one autograph, 10 Rookie Cards and 10 inserts or parallels.
