Much like fellow Panini Authentic-exclusive athlete Kevin Durant last year, Kyrie Irving rocked the NBA universe this summer by changing teams in a blockbuster trade that sent the superstar from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Boston Celtics. While it remains to be seen whether Irving’s transition will result in a championship (as Durant’s did), one thing is certain: It has resulted in new autographed memorabilia from Panini Authentic that will most certainly appeal to an entirely new fan base.
Irving’s first autographed Boston Celtics memorabilia arrived at Panini Authentic this week and includes a striking 16-by-20 photograph titled “New Chapter” and featuring Irving set against the Celtics’ fabled banner-covered rafters. The company also added a replica Spalding basketball autographed by Irving with a “Celtic Pride” inscription. Both new items are limited to an edition of 111 pieces.
