Four Years Later, First Autograph Cards of Cody Bellinger are Heating Up the Hobby
May 08, 2017

Almost four years before Los Angeles Dodgers rookie outfielder Cody Bellinger became an everyday starter in late April and immediately started ripping the cover off the ball, he caught the eye of Panini America officials. They tabbed the then-18-year-old Bellinger to sign autographs for inclusion in the company’s 2013 Elite Extra Edition Baseball product. Fast forward to today and we find Bellinger hitting a robust .357 with five home runs and 14 RBI in his first 11 games — and his 2013 Elite Extra Edition Baseball autograph cards are just as hot.

Bellinger’s 2013 Elite Extra Edition Baseball autographs were his first on the market by two years. It just took a little time for them to resonate with many collectors. A green-ink short print limited to just 10 copies recently sold on eBay for $310. A few short months earlier, one sold for just $102. Search eBay and you’ll find similar appreciation across the Bellinger board.
