DeANGELO WILLIAMS, RB - Carolina Panthers (123 Rushing Yards, 2 Touchdowns, 25 Receiving Yards, 1 Touchdown)
Card to Grab - 2006 Playoff Contenders #118

On the ground and through the air, Williams put the ball into the end zone three times in a 34 - 0 rout of the Kansas City Chiefs. Williams settled into his role as starting running back and had a breakout performance, helping the Panthers improve to 4-1 on the season, good for first place in the NFC South.

CLINTON PORTIS, RB - Washington Redskins (145 Rushing Yards, 1 Touchdown)
Card to Grab - 2002 Playoff Contenders #118

Playing in the toughest division in football, many picked the Redskins to finish dead last. In back-to-back weeks, Portis rushed for over 100 yards in road wins versus Dallas and Philadelphia, making Washington the surprise team to beat in the NFC East.

After Hurricane Ike delayed the home opener for the Texans, it was an emotional day for the city of Houston. Rookie Steve Slaton stepped up and introduced himself to the city, rushing for two touchdowns and helping the Texans build a 27-10 lead, before the Texans lost a thriller to the Colts.

MATT RYAN, QB - Atlanta Falcons (194 Passing Yards, 2 Touchdowns)

Matt Ryan threw for two touchdowns in a 27 - 24 win over the Packers, helping Atlanta improve their record to 3-2. Poised like a veteran, Ryan entered Lambeau Field in just his fifth career start and walked out of there with a big win for the Falcons.

ONES TO WATCH

KYLE ORTON, QB - Chicago Bears (334 Passing Yards, 2 Touchdowns)

Orton stepped up and won the starting quarterback job in training camp and has since helped the Bears climb back to the top of the NFC North. In a 34-7 win over the Lions, Orton threw for more than 300 yards, connecting with eight different receivers including TD strikes to Devin Hester and rookie Matt Forte.
