"Air McNair" will forever be linked with Brett Favre…they share the same agent, grew up in the same state and retired in the same year.
Steve McNair followed his brother's footsteps and attended Alcorn State University, one of the few schools that recruited him to player quarterback. There he won the Walter Payton Award as the nations top Division I-AA player after becoming the only player in NCAA history to amass more than 16,000 yards. After finishing his senior season, the Houston Oilers made him their QB of the future by selecting him third over-all in the 1995 NFL Draft.
Along with Eddie George, McNair became the face of a franchise. Houston relocated to Tennessee in 1999 and together they came within a yard of leading the Titans to NFL immortality against the St. Louis Rams in Super Bowl XXXIV. The 35-year-old was the NFL's Most Valuable Player in 2003 (sharing those honors with Peyton Manning). McNair was a three-time Pro Bowler and spent 11 seasons with the Oilers/Titans before finishing his career as a Baltimore Raven.
We decided to go back thru the hobby history books and see how much cardboard Donruss (Playoff, Leaf & Score) produced of the former QB. As you can see, he's had a few autographs (but not many) and Donruss is the place to go for his high-end collectibles!
Here's a breakdown of Steve McNair Donruss (Playoff/Leaf/Score) cards:
