Eddie Sutton Finally Gets His Rookie Card
December 28, 2007

Eddie Sutton is getting another shot at 800 and his Rookie Card. In a surprise move, the University of San Francisco announced they were bringing the 71-year-old out of retirement and onto their bench as interim coach for the remainder of the season. The former Oklahoma State coach will make his debut tonight versus Weber State.

Sutton has accumulated 798 victories over 36 seasons as a head coach. Before he retired from Oklahoma State at the end of the 2005-06 season, he made stops at Creighton, Arkansas and Kentucky. Sutton currently sits fifth on the all-time career wins list, trailing coach Bobby Knight, Dean Smith (also debuting in Extra Edition), Adolph Rupp and Jim Phelan.

Donruss Playoff was the first and ONLY company to produce Eddie Sutton' Rookie Card. Donruss Playoff continues to put the best players in their products. Sutton debuts in 2007 Donruss Elite Extra Edition on the following cards:
