2006 Wal Mart® Gridiron Gear Winners Announced...
February 22, 2007

After months of anticipation and over 5,000 entries, officials at Donruss Playoff have announced the winners of the 2006 Donruss Gridiron Gear "Rookie Autograph" Promotion. The promotion was held at participating Wal Mart® Stores and gave collectors the chance to win autographed items from the top NFL rookies from 2005 and 2006.

The grand prize, a helmet signed by all the participants of the 2006 NFL Rookie Premier, was awarded to Jeremy Merrill of Destin, Florida. Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart and Vince Young all autographed the authentic NFL helmet.

"Wow, this is awesome! I've won some small stuff in the past, but a full-sized helmet signed by all the rookies, that's huge," said a surprised Jeremy. "I've been collecting cards since I was about 12 and I'm a big Patriots fan (both Laurence Maroney & Chad Jackson signed the helmet) , but I've been pulling for the Saints this year and getting something signed by Reggie Bush - that's just awesome."

Each of the 30 first place winners will receive an authentic jersey signed by one of the top rookies from either the 2005 or 2006 rookie class. Jerseys being awarded include Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart, Cadillac Williams and Alex Smith.

"We were overwhelmed at the number of entries we received doing this promotion exclusively with Wal Mart®," said Donruss Playoff Vice President Mike Anderson. "It's great to see the excitement this promotion generated and especially gratifying to see these collectors rewarded for their passion for our hobby."

Each of the 50 second place winners will receive a box of 2006 Donruss Gridiron Gears football.
